About Trips for Kids Detroit
Trips for Kids Detroit combines mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking and cross-country skiing outings with lessons in self-esteem, environmental awareness, teamwork and crime avoidance for kids who would not otherwise have these opportunities.

Our day-long events are staffed by volunteers, include lunch and our favorite part of the day, the cookie circle, where we review the day’s challenges that were overcome and relate what we have learned back to our daily lives. A big part of our rides are having park rangers or police officers talk to the kids about the environment and crime avoidance.

We are a chapter of a national non-profit organization [www.tripsforkids.org] that has proven this program model works by providing these outings and environmental education for kids in over 27 communities across North America.
